The fact is it is not easy to built a new home given the complexity and challenges of some designs and locations and normal unexpected material setting and failure. Our investigations have involved homes from 900 sq feet to 30, 000 sq feet (Up to 20 million $). But in some cases there is poor design, faulty construction or use of improper materials that result in failure at many levels including water intrusion, ventilation or loss of material structural integrity (leaks roof or failing foundations with vapor intrusion of contractors are highly competent to address these challenges especially when it comes to failures. We regret to report that we routinely get calls from clients that have had inspection for water damage and mold and then remediation and repairs (both by same company-a BIG NO NO!) and there is a complete or major partial failure to remedy the initial problem. In some cases there is a larger problem that poses a health risk and danger that is greater than that that was original present - due to spread of biocontaminants, chemicals or toxins.
